Men's gift basket

I made this for my cousin's 40th birthday party. Pretty easy to make, and price can vary based on types for liquor you want. I was asked if they could be ordered from me, and of course I said yes. Not sure if the person thought I was serious, but I am VERY serious.

My getaway.. the craft store

A trip to Michael's craft store is always an exciting event for me. Even if I don't have a specific idea in mind, I could spend hours in that wonderful store. I even go there during the week for a lunch hour escape. Shhhhh..... don't tell anyone, I only get 30 minutes for lunch. My most recent purchase involved the Martha Stewart Crafts Knit & Weave Loom kit. Normally I try to avoid Martha Stewart products. She just annoys me to no end. But this was 50% off, and I had a coupon, so I just couldn't resist this awesome sale. The picture below shows what comes in the kit. It also comes with an instruction book that is NOT helpful at all. I feel like I need a magnifying glass to see the picture to know if I'm doing it correctly.

Martha Stewart Crafts™ Knit & Weave Loom Kit, medium

I finally got to use my new loom kit the other night at my "Knitting" get together with some friends. I think we did more chatting and wine drinking that knitting, but that's ok. I started to make a scarf by putting together the long loom. I immediately started to hate this thing. You have to put all of the pegs in the loom yourself. It gets worse. As I was knitting, the pegs would either slide out of their holes, or fold in. Perhaps my stitches were too tight, I don't know. I definitely like the knifty knitter looms better. I gave up on my scarf, and right now I am working on a "pot holder". I will try to take some pictures tonight and share tomorrow.

Other Cakes I have Made

I really enjoy making my kids birthday cakes. It's a lot of work, but so worth it to see the giant smiles on their faces!

Let's get this party started

My son is turning 7 in October and wants to have a Lego themed party. The invitations were so simple to make. I just used card stock, and a 1 inch hole punch. I found a lego font on the internet. Next was the cake. I really wanted this to be special. There was a lot of cutting, gluing (using water, not really glue). The cake was a big hit. I made my own fondant out of marshmallows and it tasted much better than the real fondant.
